Tech in Asia reported on 15 October that Anthropic briefed prospective investors at a pre-IPO meeting in San Francisco on 14 October. An attendee said third-quarter revenue reached US$16.8 billion, up 45% from the second quarter. The same person gave US$11.6 billion for the second quarter and US$4.7 billion for the first, and said Anthropic was profitable on an adjusted basis.
All of this rests on one attendee; Tech in Asia does not quote Anthropic. It does not say what the adjusted measure leaves out or how big the profit was. No IPO date is given. The outlet says the listing was likely to land after November's US midterms and ahead of OpenAI's, without naming who expects that. It adds that 2025 revenue came close to US$4.6 billion, with operating losses above US$8 billion before some liability writedowns.
If the account holds, first-quarter 2026 revenue alone already topped the 2025 full-year total, yet profit is shown only on an adjusted basis. Teams that rely on one model vendor should ask how much they depend on it, what their contract says about price changes, and what happens if service changes.
