NVIDIA said it will give UK researchers computing power worth $250 million over five years. That is $50 million a year, meant for safety and security work on AI agents, which are programs that act on their own. Most goes to the wider UK research community. A share goes to BOLD (led by Oxford), SOFAIR (led by UCL) and Imperial College London. The Decoder, citing Bloomberg, also reported that Jensen Huang, NVIDIA's CEO, announced $2 billion in new European investments in Paris.
NVIDIA said UK-based cloud partners will supply the compute, hosted in Britain. Which providers, the technical design and the commercial terms are still to be agreed. NVIDIA did not say how big each named group's share is. The Decoder's account of the $2 billion names only stakes in four French startups and gives no fuller breakdown.
NVIDIA said the work will cover secure agents, open-model security and fixes for real threats. It will also support secure test environments and safety benchmarks. NVIDIA says the findings are meant to guide safeguards across the wider industry. For teams that build or buy AI agents, that is the stated aim; no results exist yet.
