Our earlier .edu story was based on 1,780 detections. The Common Crawl TLD data now adds confirmation: Drupal and Rails maintain their strong position in education. No other sector shows this pattern — government leans Drupal but not Rails; enterprise leans Angular but not Drupal.

Why Education Is Unique

Universities have IT departments that make institutional technology decisions, CS departments that build tools in the languages they teach, and library systems that chose Drupal for its content architecture 15 years ago. Three independent technology cultures under one institution. The result is a framework landscape that reflects organizational complexity, not market default.
