The Concentration
The web isn't a diverse ecosystem. It's a near-monoculture with a few dominant species. Three platforms — two legacy CMS and one ecommerce platform — power nearly 9 out of 10 detectable websites.
The Concentration Among Detected
If you calculate an HHI-like concentration index for detected frameworks, the score is 0.54 — twice the threshold the DOJ considers 'highly concentrated.' But this is a concentration of detections, not a market in the antitrust sense. Framework choice isn't a market where competitive harm applies the same way. The analogy illustrates how top-heavy the detection landscape is — not that antitrust action is warranted.
