The Scale
At 238,055 detections, Russia is our single deepest country dataset. At this scale, the numbers are definitive. Joomla at 27,374 sites — Russia's Joomla count alone exceeds most countries' total detections. The .ru domain space carries massive legacy infrastructure. But the surprise is Next.js at 5.7% — higher than Germany's 1%. Russian tech companies are modernizing even as the broader web carries massive legacy.
The Modernization Within Legacy
Next.js at 5.7% of .ru means roughly 13,500 Next.js sites on Russian domains. That's more Next.js sites than most countries have total detections. Angular at 3.3% adds another 7,800+ enterprise JavaScript sites. Vue at 1.4% adds 3,300+. Combined, roughly 10% of the Russian web runs modern frameworks — a higher modern rate than Germany, France, or the Netherlands.
The Joomla Giant
27,374 Joomla sites on .ru domains. To put that in perspective: that's more Joomla sites than the total web detections for most countries in our dataset. Russia isn't just a Joomla holdout — it's the Joomla capital of the world by raw count. The Russian Joomla community built a massive infrastructure 10-15 years ago, and it persists. Every Joomla vulnerability disproportionately affects the .ru domain space.
