BleepingComputer reported on 12 October that Microsoft will end security updates for some Windows 11 23H2 editions. Microsoft said the November 2026 update will be the last for Enterprise, Education and IoT Enterprise. After it, those devices get no more monthly security fixes. Home and Pro editions lost support in November 2025.
BleepingComputer named version 26H2 as the upgrade, available since September 2026. It comes as an enablement package, and Microsoft says one restart finishes the install. Devices with early updates turned on get it first, in phases. Others can check under Settings, then Windows Update. The reports give no exact November release date. They do not say how many devices still run 23H2, or whether a paid extension exists.
The business editions follow Home and Pro by a year. BleepingComputer adds that 24H2 Home and Pro lose support this week, while 24H2 Enterprise and Education last until October 2027. Each edition has its own end date, so teams need their own device list. Key questions: how many devices run 23H2, which cannot take 26H2, and who owns the deadline?
