Vercel sets credit expiry and work-email rules in new Hobby and Pro terms

The terms apply from October 19, 2026 and cover credits, renewals, company-managed accounts and UK and EU consumer rights.

In brief
  • Vercel's new Hobby and Pro terms apply from October 19, 2026. A new section explains how credits expire.
  • A company can manage only projects created inside its Team, and Vercel will notify users first.

Vercel said in a changelog post that new Terms of Service for its Hobby and Pro plans apply from October 19, 2026. A new section explains credits. Credits included in a plan stop at the end of the subscription term. Bought credits last one year from purchase, unless the purchase terms set another period. Credits only pay Vercel fees, hold no cash value, and cannot be transferred. Credit purchases are billed in advance, and subscriptions renew unless switched off.

Credits are generally nonrefundable. Vercel names one exception: unused bought credits are refunded if it ends your account without cause. Eligible UK and EU consumers have separate legal rights, including free cancellation within 30 days if a change hurts their use by more than a minor degree. For work-email accounts, a company can manage only projects created inside its Team, and Vercel will notify you first. The post does not say how long you get to move personal content, or whether credit expiry is new.

Prepaid credits can lapse, so someone should own tracking of balances and dates. A company's reach ends at projects inside its Team, so budget owners should ask who holds work-email accounts and where personal projects live. Pass-through rates, which are outside providers' prices that Vercel passes on, can also shift costs.
