Salesforce said it has signed an agreement to buy Rune Technologies, a company that builds software for military supply and logistics. Tech in Asia reported the price is US$375 million in cash and stock. Salesforce did not give a price in its own announcement. Rune was founded in 2024 by David Tuttle and Peter Goldsborough. Salesforce said the US Army and US Marine Corps already use its software. The tools forecast supply needs and keep working where networks are weak or cut off.
Salesforce said it expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, if usual closing conditions are met. Tech in Asia reported that Rune has raised US$30 million. It also reported a US$4.1 million contract with the Army's 1st Cavalry Division and a separate Army award with a US$99 million ceiling. Salesforce did not repeat those figures. No details have been given on staffing or on how the products will be priced.
Salesforce said its defense unit, Missionforce, is growing 80% year over year. It says Rune would add field logistics to that business. For teams that build or buy government software, this shows a large vendor adding tools that work offline. Data from the field then syncs into the same records used at headquarters once a connection returns.
