NVIDIA said on its blog that it and Microsoft showed Windows hardware and software for AI agents at a San Francisco event on Wednesday. NVIDIA reported that Microsoft made Microsoft Execution Containers, or MXC, generally available. Microsoft's Pavan Davuluri said agents on Windows should be secured, observed and governed. RTX Spark laptops are open for preorder and go on sale October 16, NVIDIA said. Desktops follow in November. Eight companies, including Dell, HP and Lenovo, plan systems.
NVIDIA says MXC lets agents run in the background under operating system control, but the post gives few details on what it actually limits. Davuluri said RTX Spark's 128GB of shared memory runs models that do not fit on a traditional machine. NVIDIA says DGX Station for Windows, with 748GB, handles models up to a trillion parameters. It is only a preview with a sign-up link. It has no stated price or date, and RTX Spark prices are also missing. Speed figures come from the companies, not outside tests.
Satya Nadella said the desktop must be the most secure place for agents to run. Putting agents on the PC makes the operating system the security boundary. Before buying, ask what agents may touch, who governs them, and what data stays local instead of going to the cloud.
