Anthropic files for a stock market listing under the symbol ANT

The AI company has filed its first formal paperwork for an initial public offering, with key terms still open.

In brief
  • Anthropic filed a registration statement with the U.S. SEC for a proposed public share offering. It plans to list on Nasdaq as "ANT".
  • The number of shares and the price range are not set. The filing is not yet effective, so no shares can be sold.

Anthropic announced on 26 October 2026 that it has sent an S-1 form to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. An S-1 is the paperwork a company files to sell shares to the public for the first time. This one covers an initial public offering, or IPO, of Class A common stock. Anthropic wants those shares traded on Nasdaq's Global Select Market, with the ticker "ANT." For copies of the preliminary prospectus, it pointed buyers to Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Anthropic said the number of shares and the price range are not yet decided. It gave no date for the offering. The company said the filing has not yet become effective. Until it does, the shares cannot be sold and offers to buy cannot be accepted. Anthropic also said the announcement is not an offer to sell shares. The sources do not describe the company's finances or how it would use any money raised.

Many teams build on Claude models or buy tools that rely on them. A public Anthropic would have to share more financial and risk information through its SEC filings. The announcement itself includes none of that detail, so it changes nothing yet for customers.
